Canary Wharf Summer Concerts

London Symphony Orchestra - July 15

During the last three weeks of July there are a number of concerts that take place in Jubilee Park in Canary Wharf. They remind us a lot of the concerts that are held at the Botanical Gardens back at home in Wellington.

The first concert we went to was the London Symphony Orchestra who were playing themes from Hollywood Movies. They had a number of characters from Star Wars take park in the concert (Darth Vadar conducted while Jake da Muss played the cymbals),
Sid Lawrence Orchestra - July 22

The next concert we went to was the day of the second terrorist attack in London. Unfortunately there weren't more people there because of the events earlier in the day. By 7pm the park was still quite empty!

However by kickoff there was quite a sizeable crowd at what we thought was the best concert of the summer!
The Rat Pack - July 29

Unfortunately we didn't take our camera to the last concert because...well...Scott forgot to take it with him to work and then forgot to ask Michelle to bring it with her.

It wasn't a bad concert but our favourite of the summer was the Sid Lawrence Orchestra the week before.
